Beautiful girl, Beautiful friend

Before Emily left to return to college we had one more session that we needed to do.  We were out scouting local areas that might work. I previously posted the photos I took of Emily on the roof of a building, but never got to finish editing and posting.  So here is the conclusion of our 1st day.  We had been walking all over Charlotte and of course I was making Emily pose, and pose, and pose.  Really I think she likes it!  And she is very good at it.   If it was possible to steal her hair– maybe while she was sleeping or something…I WOULD!!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her hair and her super fun personality. Hummm maybe I’ll steal that too (wink).

After the first day of walking we were really tired, but had one more place to check out.  It had this really cool furniture that totally inspired me.  Emily propped up her tired legs on this vintage glam couch, but I couldn’t stop shooting. There laid a tired Emily, still looking P-E-R-F-E-C-T.   (more…)

Vintage Bridal Session

For those of you who might be wondering where the Vintage bridal session went. The bride has decided to wait until after her wedding to have those re-posted, which will be September 3rd. If you haven’t seen them yet be sure to check back!

Never goodbye, just see ya later

I don’t know where to begin.  I’m feeling all sorts of feelings right now.  For the past 8 months I’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily Plecker who became my assistant, friend, protege, spiritual sister, roommate for the summer, beautiful model anytime I wanted to go shooting, laughing buddy and fellow lover of Shabby Chic, vintage and shopping at antique stores.   We shared so much and got so attached it was hard to give her that one last hug good-bye this morning as she left.  Sometimes we don’t know how much someone has touched our lives until they are about to walk in a new direction leaving only the sweet memories behind.  Although we are years apart in age, we had so much in common and are alike in many ways. We both believe that GOD brought us together for a reason. The first time we met we talked non stop for 3 hours! Now we’ve discovered he actually had many reasons for bringing us together and blessed us both in the process.  She equally blessed my son Luke. They would try new tactics of scaring each other and I would often hears screams and laughter coming from upstairs. She had so much patience as Luke pestered her non-stop just like a younger brother and she would just give him guff right back and he loved it! We have been a happy little group, exploring the city, eating out, lots of Starbucks and laughter and of course lots of work too!
