When I met Elisa and her mother during our first bridal consultation, we “connected” immediately. Elisa radiates warmth, joy & kindness. She shared her adorably sweet giggle as we talked about all the things we have in common, like our love for vintage and the color green. I learned that Elisa grew up in Papua Indonesia, where her parents were missionaries.
After graduating from International school there, she moved to Boiling Springs, NC to study art education and ended up moving in with one of her dear professors, Susan Bell.
Andrew grew up in Fairfield, OH. Feeling called to be a youth minister, he attended Gardner Webb University. His first semester back, he took an art survey class and also a watercolor class with Susan Bell, where he was introduced to an adorable art major. During the course of time, Susan got to know both of these students very well. One rainy day Elisa showed up for class but it was so full that there was no where to sit. Susan admittedly likes to play “fairy god meddler” and used her wisdom to suggest that Andrew borrow her umbrella and walk Elisa to another building where there would be room to work. So there they were, walking together under the same umbrella. During a class at Susan’s home, the match making continued. “So, Andrew, are you seeing anyone? Would you like to? I have this cute girl who lives with me and she’s really kind. This became one of the main topics of Andrew’s summer.
When Elisa returned to school for fall semester and discovered that the whole art class was “abuzz” with the idea of “Andrew & Elisa”, she was embarrassed and felt horrified. But that all ended when she met Andrew again. He made her laugh and suddenly she realized that she wanted to know everything about him! A month after spending every free moment together, Andrew was hanging out with Elisa while she was working on a painting called “Jungle Pilot”. While asking for his advice on her painting he said, “I know this isn’t the most romantic setting, but I just can’t wait any longer…will you be my girlfriend? YES! Elisa buried her face in his shoulder, shy but so happy! And that is how it all began.
I finally got to meet Andrew during the engagement session and I could instantly see the amazingly wonderful guy he was and why they were so perfect together. So sweet, kind, loving, tender, playful and always smiling adoringly at his beautifully sweet girl! Ahhh a match made in heaven!
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in a couple of weeks!! Congratulations on your engagement! I can hardly wait to meet the “fairy god meddler”! She has some awesome skills!
